Adeline DiNorscia Mobile of Wilmington, Del., formerly of West Chester, died on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Wilmington, just three months short of her 96th birthday.
She was the wife of the late Samuel A. Mobile, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Madison, Maine, she was the daughter of Camillo and Teresa Rossi DiNorscia.
She was a graduate of Kennett High School.
Adeline was a longtime member of St. Agnes Parish in West Chester until moving to Wilmington in October 2010. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at St. Agnes and an active member of the West Chester Senior Center’s knitting club and book club. Lena volunteered around the church and was also a member of the Prayer Group.
She was employed at Bishop Shanahan High School in West Chester from 1958 until 1991.
She and Dad will be remembered for hosting the annual family Assumption Day Celebration.
Mom was an avid reader, knitter and baker – being best known for her pizzelles and apple butter cookies.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas J. and his wife Debra – children, Sam (Karen), Nicole, Matteo (Corinne) and Michael; Theresa Boyer and her husband, John – children, Michael (Monica), Peter (Lisa) and Roseann Blount (Daniel); Donna MacFarlane and her husband, Peter – children, Brian (Kelli), Danny (Farida), Molly Parker (Jay), Gabe (Katie) and Gina; and James A. and his wife, Susan – children, Anthony, Samantha, Nicholas and Maria. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Anthony and James; and sister, Teresa.
The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for the loving care given to Lena these past months.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Entombment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Birthright of Chester County, 112 S. High St., West Chester, PA 19382.
